Some of the cats and kittens we adopt out have indeed been microchipped. We are not always able to offer this due to funding, but if we have the money to spend, we prefer it is done before the kitten or cat goes to its new home. If your kitten has a chip, it gets transferred to you within a week of your adoption paperwork being completed. It is then up to you as the owner to log into the chip database and double check all information for accuracy. If you move and your address or phone number changes, you will need to update that information with the chip company as well. Jodi Waits is always listed as the emergency contact for any animal that we adopt out. Should your pet be lost and found by someone, and if the chip company can’t get in touch with you as the new owner, they can always reach Jodi and she will make sure you get your pet back.
